Photographing Your Kittens

shop digital camerasIf there is one thing the Internet is good for, it’s finding plenty of pictures of cats. If you’d like to add to the plethora of adorable kitten pictures or are just interested in giving your furry friend the spotlight for your own enjoyment, here are some helpful tips.

Extra photography equipment isn’t really necessary. Start by increasing your shutter speed. Kittens are fast, no question about it. If you don’t want to end up with a lot of blurry photos, you need to bump up the speed. You can do so by increasing the light in the room and by upping the ISO but keeping the aperture the same. As will a lot of photographs, keep the flash off. You don’t want to create bright glares and artificial looking colors.

Change up the angle. Most people just stand over their pets and take a shot. Quite boring. Try getting down on the same level as your kitty and shoot from various angles. Showcase your cat’s character. Lazy cat? Take a photo of him yawning. Try using a macro lens on Canon SLR cameras to fill the frame with their cuteness for a nice portrait shot.

Keep treats on hands to lure your cat into staying in the room, because we all know cats have a mind of their own. They won’t stay for your entertainment!
