Getting Social with Tumblr
If you haven’t heard of Tumblr, you’re one photographer who is most certainly missing out. Think of Tumblr like a photography blog…because that’s exactly what it is. Even if you’re not the world’s greatest photographer, it’s a great way to share your own photographs or the ridiculous photographs of others. It’s free and so incredibly simple to setup. If you’re a terrible writer, no worries. People tend to write just a few short sentences, if any, because the focus is photos.
By signing up for an account, you can now open yourself up to a world of possibilities. Just have your Canon SLR cameras handy and the Internet and you’re in business. You can use the site to showcase a wide variety of your collections or come up with a specific idea. It can be as silly or as serious as you want it to be. The best Tumblr sites are the more specific and unique ones. People need a reason to keep coming back to your site, just like any other blog.
Even if you don’t own fancy DSLR cameras, you’ll be okay. Got an iPhone or an Android? Take pics with your camera phone and immediately uploaded it to your site using the Tumblr app. Who knows, you might have the next big meme.
